About Me

I’m a girl with a dream of changing the world, one family at a time. I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist and Board Certified Cognitive Specialist that loves to chat with parents. Let me take you on my journey…

I’m Natalie J. Evans

My passion for working with communication disorders all began when I observed my grandfather receive in-home speech therapy after suffering a stroke. My family was devastated! After almost a year of speech therapy, my grandfather was able to regain his ability to eat and speak. At that moment, I realized that this is the footprint I wanted to leave in this world, but I wanted to do it with children.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2004, which allowed me to work in the therapy field. I absolutely loved working children to help them to gain the skills needed to be successful communicators. I also enjoyed learning more about how I could help them. I figured if I didn’t know what they needed, I could never help them on the level they needed – which led to my passion working to improve family engagement.

When I am not wearing my cape as “Super Speech-Language Pathologist”, I pretend to be a world-renowned “Iron Chef” for family and friends.

My Schoolin’

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2004. In 2009, after diving into Autism studies and training, I received a certificate in Behavior Intervention in Autism from University of Massachusetts- Lowell, which enabled me to become Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist and provide ABA therapy to those with autism in their home. In 2010, I earned a Master of Science degree in Speech in Hearing Science from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee.

After school I started a speech therapy company, Puzzle Piece Kids, where I lead a team of SLPs and SLPAs, who get results in therapy while having fun. With Puzzle Piece Kids, I have worked extensively with early education/childcare facilities and agencies empowering parents and staff.
